Student Stories

It seems incredibly strange sitting down and writing this, whilst realising that a whole 6 years has passed since I left CFSA! Over that time a lot has changed in my life – I’ve lived and worked in three different countries, studied at the literal equivalent of Hogwarts, and grown more than I could ever have begun to imagine. Though all of this, of course, started with CFSA.

It has been 6 years since I left CFSA and yet it feels like yesterday! People are not lying when they say that time flies by! Before you know it, school is over and you’re faced with the question of what to do next. For me, it wasn’t straight forward – as it isn’t for many people. I had always known what I wanted to do, but I was never particularly good at maths or science at school and so I always thought I could never do it. Despite this, I made the decision to apply for Veterinary Medicine whilst in Year 13.

I am a Year 12 student at Colonel Frank Seely Academy Sixth Form, studying Biology, History and Psychology. Grateful for the support and encouragement of the teachers here, there was never any doubt about choosing this as my next step. My older sister attended this school and received A*s in her A-levels, allowing her to study Law at Bristol University.

I have loved history since I was a child, so I enjoyed studying it at Colonel Frank Seely Academy – especially at Sixth Form where I was taught about the Tudors and the Russian Revolution. Once I had decided to go to university, it was an easy decision to carry on with history and I chose Nottingham Trent as their course looked interesting and was local.

Since leaving CFSA in 2014, I can confidently look back and say that some of the greatest memories of my childhood and teenage years were because of CFSA. In all honesty, I do not think I would be where I am at today if it was not for all of the great teachers at the school pushing me to be the academic and professional that I am today.
